I have many reasons to love the Laurie Beechman Theatre. And now I have another one, as I've been cast in a reading that will be staged in the space!
SHORT 'N SWEET, The Name 'N Lights 20 Minute Play and Musical Showcase, will take place on May 24 and will feature cabaret style readings of three short theatrical pieces. I'll be playing the role of Rebecca in the piece 'The Glue Story' by Ron Brawer. And once again, I play a character who has a LOT more going on underneath what is read on the surface. Oh, and did I mention there is an English accent involved?

Blah-blah-blog: NYC Photoshoot!
April 15, 2010
Okay, so I've done my research and shared my secrets about the best photographer and make-up artist in Rockland (see previous blogs). Now I'm going to share a secret about the best photographer in NYC!
I recently shot with LIMAN CHENG. We shot on location in Williamsburg and got some really great stuff! We were striving for shots that were a little edgy, a little punky, a little trashy, and a little classy. I'm so happy we got 'em! Liman is really talented and is fun to work with.
So Liman comes HIGHLY recommended, and you can contact him here at: Liman Cheng. Say the Ford sent you and enjoy your shoot :)

I am so excited to accept the role of Chrysothemis in the Off-Broadway run of Are You There Zeus? It's Me, Electra. The show is part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festival is pretty cool because each show involved raises money & awareness for a cause and our show will be benefiting The Children’s Cancer and Blood Foundation.
Written & directed by Aliza Shane and based loosley on Sophocles' Electra, this show is an old story told from a new perspective! I am REALLY going to enjoy playing Chrysothemis and I can't wait to start exploring this character. Let's just say she is...preoccupied...with other things until she eventually joins the cause!
Show schedule:
Plaing at: 45 Bleeker (The Bleeker Street Theatre)
Sundays @ 9:30: June 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th
Tuesday @ 4:30: June 8th
Wednesday @ 10:30: June 16th

Blah-blah-blog: The Infinite Thread
April 06, 2010
I had the awesome chance to work with a very talented director by the name of Loredana Gasparotto this past summer, and now I get to work with her again! I co-starred in her short film Tainted, and this week I will participate in a reading of her feature film The Infinite Thread.
I love readings because they really allow you to flex your acting chops without the pressure of all the elements of a full production. You have only the script in your hand, and usually a short time to prepare, so you really have to commit to your choices. You may also get to see the creative process, and the satisfaction of watching a project develop into a finished piece.
The Infinite Thread is so fun for me because I get to read a character who has a Romanian accent. I don't often get to work with acccents, though I love them! I had a little help from a friend (thanks Ksenia!) and channeled my Romanian ballet teacher (thanks Florentina!) to put it all together. The reading takes place this Wednesday at 6pm. I can't wait!

Blah-blah-blog: Photoshoot!
March 30, 2010
I am so happy to be collaborating with some very talented individuals! I recently got to shoot with photographer Brent Lee of Phun Photo. Check out his stuff at: Phun Photo Inc. Even the "monsoon" on the day of the shoot couldn't thwart us -Despite major power outages, floods, and detours, we were able to prevail at Brent's studio. We've been trying to work together for the longest time, and I am so happy we made it happen!
And what's a shoot without hair & makeup? I was lucky to be able to work with Katie D'Auria, assisted by Laura Spear! These girls are both hair stylists based out of MB's in Nyack, NY. If you want to look fierce- BOOK THEM!

Blah-blah-blog: Yvette Mimieux
March 28, 2010
I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with the great Miles Phillips in Joshua Warr's SING NO EVIL. He compared me to a young Yvette Mimieux! What a compliment! Yvette was an actress of the 60's, appearing in films such as Where The Boys Are, The Light in the Piazza, and The Time Machine. I love it!
